Where apps break on the Poco F1
MIUI background-kill on an old build
MIUI's aggressive memory and battery management stops backgrounded work — uploads, sync and FCM push die silently until the user allows autostart. On this older MIUI 10/12 build it is especially harsh.
Notch safe-area on MIUI
The F1's wide notch means your status bar, top sheets and full-screen media must respect the MIUI cutout insets. Content can get clipped behind the notch on this exact aspect ratio.
60 Hz LCD, not AMOLED
The F1 is a 60 Hz IPS panel. Dark-mode greys and low-contrast UI that look fine on a modern AMOLED can wash out or black-crush here.
IR face unlock and old WebView
IR face unlock behaves differently from camera face unlock, and the dated System WebView on an unsupported Android build can break modern web views and in-app browsers.

Testing on the Poco F1
Can I test my app on a Poco F1 with 99tests?
Yes. When you book, set the Poco F1 as a target device. A few active 99tests testers still own one, and we'll match you with a tester on their own phone and SIM.
Do you test on a real Poco F1 or an emulator?
A real one — a tester's own Poco F1, on their own SIM and network. The quirks of this older device and its software don't reproduce on an emulator, a simulator or a stock-device cloud.
Which software version will the Poco F1 be on?
Testers use their own device with the updates they've installed. The Poco F1 launched with Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 9.6. Its last big update was Android 10 with MIUI 12, so most units are now on an unsupported, older build. Every finding in the report records the exact device, OS build and network.
How much does a test run cost?
Fixed packages from ₹9,999 + GST ($129) for 5 × 45-minute sessions on 2 phones or browsers, with a verified report in 3 business days. You can mix the Poco F1 with other devices in one run.
Why test on a phone this old?
A large base of price-conscious users never upgraded from the F1. Its old MIUI build and dated WebView surface crashes and layout breaks that never appear on a current test device.
