Where apps break on the iPad (9th generation)
Background refresh and Low Power Mode
iOS delays background work when Background App Refresh is off or Low Power Mode is on, and asks for notification permission only once. Test with Low Power Mode on, and after denying notifications and turning them back on in Settings.
3 GB of RAM
On the 3 GB model the system closes background apps sooner. In the middle of a flow, switch to the camera or another app (a UPI app, if you take payments) and come back: the screen and anything typed should still be there.
iPad layouts
Check landscape, Split View and Slide Over, and a hardware keyboard if you support one. Phone-only layouts stretched across a tablet screen are the usual failure.
Touch ID
Check the Touch ID prompt, a failed scan, and the fall back to the passcode or your app's PIN.
Wi-Fi drops and hotspots
Tablets mostly run on home Wi-Fi or a phone's hotspot. Check what happens when the Wi-Fi drops in the middle of an upload or a payment, and on a slow hotspot: a clear message, and no duplicate orders.
